Tell Us About ACME Framing

ACME Framing is where craftsmanship meets curiosity. For more than 60 years, the studio has helped people see art in new ways, one considered frame at a time. Today, we continue that legacy, working with collectors, artists and everyday customers to frame each piece in a way that reflects what makes it worth keeping.

What Inspired Your Business?

We were drawn to ACME because we saw an opportunity to reimagine how framing is experienced. We believe framing is never just a finishing touch. It's part of how art is understood, appreciated and lived with. Every piece that comes through our studio gets a one-of-a-kind treatment rather than a formulated response.

Most people think of framing as the last step before a piece goes on the wall. We see it differently. For us, it's part of the work itself, changing how a piece is read and felt.

What Do You Love About Surry Hills?

Surry Hills rewards curiosity. Creativity here isn't confined to galleries. It lives in the cafés, studios and shopfronts, and in the people who choose to do things differently. That independent spirit inspires us daily and it's part of why ACME feels at home on Crown Street.

What’s Your Favourite Local Business?

The businesses we admire most are the ones doing things their own way. Surry Hills is full of people who care deeply about what they make, whether it's food, books, art, design or hospitality. That commitment to quality, originality and community gives the neighbourhood its character.
